Cold Laser Therapy is a treatment in which specific wavelengths of light is used to penetrate the tissue which increases the healing process. This therapy can be used on individuals who suffer from a different types of chronic and acute conditions. This method is used to eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and improve functionality.
How Cold Laser Therapy Works!!
Cold lasers are handheld devices which is used by the physiotherapists. The laser is put directly at the affected area for a few seconds to several minutes. The duration of this therapy is depends on the size of the treatment area and few other factors.
During this therapy, the non-thermal photon lights released from the laser goes through the layers of skins (dermis, epidermis, and the subcutaneous tissue or tissue fat under the skin). The photon light of laser therapy has the ability to penetrate 2 to 5 cm below the skin at 90mw and 830 nm.
